** Something just feels wrong to me that the fourth esper, Diabolos, isn't discussed on this page that's dedicated to these four new espers.  If it were me browsing, I'd prefer discussing it in this section anyway, and keeping the Dragon's Den link at the top of the Diabolos section.  It might be redundant (or you can leave the strategy link there but talk about what makes the esper unique here), but it achieves what this miniguide sets out to accomplish, a full discussion on every new esper.

Just trying to keep a handle on things that are still to do with v2, because we've had to bounce around and hacking things together just to get stuff running for the walkthrough.

Check the update log for this page to see when things have been added or modified. This list isn't prioritized or anything, it's just a scratchpad. This is not exhaustive, either!

  • We haven't done anything with GBA bonus content as yet. Not true now, but we haven't done that much.
  • Do we need more miniguides? Maybe a Setzer Slot miniguide...? Pending closure after one more discussion. Setzer is moving to his character page.

  • Enemy formations
  • Set up a standalone blue magic page like we did for FFV.
  • 1.36 has level 2 headings in the w_text where it should be level 3. Check all chapters for that in sql.
  • Also, the Magna Roader link is broken in the Veldt Hunting guide of the same chapter, not sure which Magna Roader it is.
  • Map and shops lol
  • Walkthrough says "Guides" after the CoN logotype on Skyglade. Why? stupidity
  • Fix the items page.
  • Kirin esper does not have an image.
  • Items need icons when parsed.
  • Might not be practical, but perhaps a flow chart would work better than the second para for the auction house? I can follow the paragraph, but describing the process doesn’t lend well to prose. did this for WoB. WoR is better laid out already.
  • Need to figure out a good way to do character abilities. Seems like they should go on the character pages, but some of them are gonna be huge. This is what we'll do, though.
  • Magicite item has no information in it.
  • Boss strats need to be moved from the walkthrough table to the enemies table to match our current paradigm. We should translate those enemy attacks as we do that step.
  • Ran into trouble at transferring Phunbaba/Humbaba's boss fight strategy transfer to its boss sheet. The same Humbaba is linked in both times he's encountered (normally not an issue except for strategy discussion). Recommend making one more entry for Phunbaba/Humbaba for the second encounter, which has a different strategy and script.
  • Need to transfer Doom Gaze's strategy to his enemy table.
  • Lv. ? Holy - Spell description should read: Casts Holy on enemies whose levels are divisible by the last digit of the player's GP/Gil ?.
  • GBA Espers edits:
    • Onion Duster link is broken.
    • Under Leviathan: "but it's less powerful than Tsunami and isn't much to worry a bout. " eliminate the space in 'about'.
    • Under Leviathan: "El Niño can do around 1,500 to everybody" Minor nitpick, sounds better if you put the word 'damage' after 1,500.

  • Josh's first/second round of WoB walk edits is up to chapter 39 as of 19 Feb 2013. DP's is languishing at 15 as of that date. Mooney will probably pass that and DP will step in later on again.
  • The magic page is pulling data, but most of the code is still built for FF5. Most of the output is missing or broken.
    • The table is missing like half the white magic, what the hell. Maybe not!
  • Magic page could still use the nice status add and status remove info that we do on FF5. Shouldn't be that hard to do, needs two new DB columns and some transfer of info. Low priority.
  • Weapons have no equipper images.
  • 1:23 - Maybe move the mug text to a miniguide or Locke's bio or something? Not sure. Managing with character bios.
  • Excalipoor changes the auction house in GBA.
  • w-icons in headers is laaaaame. What did we do about that for FF5?
  • Enemy Immunities (Command and Status?)
  • Soul Shrine encounters
  • Chapter 2-30 needs a link that we can't create until WoB is in the database.
  • Various icons for susceptibility in enemies are missing (imp, confusion, others?)
  • Esper learn lists is still cocked up.
  • 2-32 and 33 need screenshots.
  • Drop and steal get silly if SNES doesn't exist. See Earth Dragon (GBA) / Dirt Drgn (SNES)
  • Legendary Dragons exist twice for GBA. Make sure we're getting the right ones at the right times for links in the bestiary.
  • Section 2.38: 2nd Paragraph: "For a full comparison between the two, I suggest reading up on them in section 8.10; for a detailed explanation of the powers of the EsperRagnarok Esper's summon attack, follow [METAMORPH-LINK]. [LET'S SET UP A PAGE FOR RAGNAROK FORMS AND METAMORPH, MAYBE]" Section 8.10 is likely wrong and used for a previous walkthrough layout. Also, obviously the capitalized notes mentioned." <---Still untouched. 2nd Paragraph from Bottom: "As far as the whole Ragnarok business goes, you should take a look at [RAGNAROK-LINK] if you went with the Esper." <---Still untouched, not sure what the link should be.
  • 1.36 monster formations
  • Enemies in 1.10 and 1.11 are some that don't have bestiary entries. We need to create entries for them in our bestiary and make them work. The full list of these enemies is:
    • Doberman (dog guards in the Imperial Camp)
    • Typhon (Colloseum version)
    • Darkside (Security Check Point enemy)
    • Specter (Security Check Point enemy)
    • Eukaryote (Security Check Point enemy)
    • Merchant (Locke's scenario)
    • Soldier (Imperial Camp enemy)
    • Officer (Imperial Camp enemy)
    • Cadet (Locke's scenario)
    • Guardian (invincible) Still needs bestiary entry and if necessary, steal and drop table.
    • All four Glutturns (Soul Shrine) Still needs bestiary entry and if necessary, steal and drop table.
  • Section 2.31: the Hidonite (1), (2), (3), and (4) entries are all translating into the same Erebus entry for section 2.31 GBA version. Erebus bestiary entries need to be distinguished.
  • Section 2.36: Screenshot needed for platform with green men walking on them, replace over ascii image. Remove [OH GOD SCREENSHOT PLZ] when finished.
  • Incomplete list from 2.20 onward of bestiary entries without pictures:
    • Chadarnook (Goddess)
    • Chadarnook (Phantasm)
    • Caladruis/Vindr
    • Galypdes/Aquila
    • InnoSent/Innoc
  • Crusader esper fire, wind graphics don't appear next to its Merton spell.
  • Bestiary numbers are off starting at 320. Chadarnook's two forms share a bestiary number, and then Valigarmanda should be 320 and count up from there.
  • Test to make sure all tags are changed to ::offensive ::defensive, etc for magic in the walk.
  • All in the Espers section:
    • Alexandr/Alexander has two blank spell teachings below the five he teaches. These can simply be removed, as all of the spells he does teach are already listed.
    • Exact same with Siren which has one spell teaching blank and can be removed. Testper does too (lol).
    • Kirin esper does not have an image.
    • Tritoch/Valigarmanda needs two more Spell Teachings, Firaga/Fire3 and Thundaga/Bolt 3 at a learning rate of 1.
    • Ifrit needs two more spell teachings in his list, Fire 2/Fira x5 learning, and Drain at x1 learning.
    • Maduin needs two more spell teachings: Ice 2/Blizzara and Bolt 2/Thundaga at a learning rate of x3 each.
    • Phoenix is missing one teaching spell, Life 3 at a learning rate of x1.
    • Ramuh needs two more teachings: Bolt 2/Thundara (x2) and Poison (x5).
    • Shiva needs one spell teaching: Cure at a learning rate of x3.
    • Shoat needs two spell teachings: Break at a rate of x5 and Doom at a rate of x2.
    • Terrato needs two teachings: Quartr at a rate of x1 and W Wind at a rate of x1.
  • Sometimes chapters with more than one enemy formation block are different widths in the walkthrough. Should just need some inline CSS to fix that, maybe in $headerinsert in walkthrough.php.
  • Magic icons need to be created for Clear, Frozen, and Seizure/HP Leak statii.
