All video that is uploaded to the CoN YouTube channel (http://youtube.com/cavesofnarshe/) needs to be properly edited to contain our bumpers at the front. This document describes what the bumpers are and what to do with them.

Makeup of Bumpers

Bumpers are simple video files that are tacked on to video files captured by CoN staff to provide CoN branding to these videos. They are typically crossfaded with the first second or so of the video to make them a little less easy to excise by anyone who might want to steal them, and to provide an interesting effect.

Bumpers (so far) are always AVI files and they have been developed in the following sizes and framerates:

  • 360p (480x360), 30 frames per second.
  • 720p (1280x720), 30 frames per second.

The image used in the bumpers is a CoN logo with scanline effect. (File exists on webserver?) This image is connected to a silent wav file using AVISynth and VirtualDub at the correct audio settings for the video file to be attached to it. A bumper should be created to match each size video uploaded to the CoN YT channel.
